"Looking back at a great 2015-edition of FlowerTrials"

As in other years, the FlowerTrials® for 2015 were a real success for Royal Van Zanten. From 9 through to 12 June, 49 companies in 3 regions presented their new products and future developments for pot and bedding plants. Royal Van Zanten can look back on a very productive event with a record number of visitors.
People visiting companies in the Aalsmeer region of the Netherlands were ensured of an inspiring experience at Royal Van Zanten's location. "Our collaboration with Danziger, Morel and Horteve Breeding resulted in an extensive show featuring a very wide range of new products. It was also another chance to highlight the varieties already in great demand."

Royal Van Zanten went to great lengths to enthuse visitors by including a Concept Store, the Mum District and the launch of a new marketing concept for Tiara®. Meanwhile, the familiar concepts for Skyfall®, Organza®, Colorita®, etc. could be admired in inspirational settings. "Furthermore, a delightful presentation of our very broad garden mum assortment was displayed, including the addition of new colours, series and mixes."

Concept store: ‘fashion meets plants'
The concept store developed for Celosia ‘Deep Purple', which included not just the stunning plants themselves but also various garments and even a bed, also made use of a ‘like & win' competition to enhance the promotion of this unique pot plant. Visitors were eligible to win attractive Adidas sports shoes customised with a trendy Celosia print.

Mum District:
A Mum District created for the pot chrysanthemum assortment showed that there was the perfect variety and colour to suit every occasion and every mood. For the romantically inclined, light pink makes an excellent choice. Green and white express health and purity; if you're dreaming of distant travel, then the orange varieties exactly fit the mood.

Aster Tiara® series:
The communications for promoting the Tiara® pot aster series were brand-new. What started as a sensational piece of paper art was used to produce a stylish marketing concept which included beautiful sleeves and tray film. The Tiara series consists of genetically compact plants available in seven colours ranging from white to shades of blue: for plants with royal allure.

New product plaza:
This was the first year that a ‘new product plaza' was made available for all the participants to display their latest developments. Feline, the new variety in the Colorita® series of pot alstroemerias, was a real eye-catcher, particularly because of its extra-large, hot pink flowers. "Wonderland was another stunning variety: the first double-flowered bicolour in our pot chrysanthemum assortment." The attention of visitors was also drawn to the introduction of what are now seven colours in our Aubisque series.

The Celosia assortment of Van Zanten featured new varieties as well, particularly Barcalona which is ideal for growing under natural, short-day conditions. Due to its combination of unique cultivation properties and colour retention at higher temperatures, this compact, profusely flowering plant makes a significant addition to the total Celosia assortment.
