Germany: Local growers gather at Emsflower

Emsflower, one of the largest pot and bedding plant growers in Europe opens its doors this week, during der Grune Daumen. It is a small-scale exhibition for garden plant growers from the Emsbüren region, Germany.

Several growers, mainly from the tree nursery segment, and some suppliers of technique and forwarders, were present at the show.


Roy Achterbosch of Achterbosch Machinebouw. The company released a large internal transportation system at Emsflower, including 60 'Rhino's', fully automated vehicles that are transporting the plant carts through the entire facility.

Harrie Leenheer of W&L Groenservice. The nursery is part of North Plants and cooperates with Desch Plantpal with the Hot & Spicy pots.


Arie Kelders of TTA. The company is installing Combifix units at Emsflower.

As well as this large production location Kwekerij Emsflower also owns a restaurant, a play ground, a demo greenhouse with several vegetables and ornamentals, a tropical cactus garden, a butterfly garden and some pounds.
