Promotion plan #emotiflowers ready for European subsidy

In 2017 all of France will use #emotiflowers on social media; at least, that is the plan of Flower Council Holland and its French partner Val'hor. Both organisations have requested a subsidy from the European Union for this promotion campaign for flowers.

The basis of the proposed promotion campaign #emotiflowers is a new flower language 2.0, which can be used to describe all cheerful festivities and holidays in Europe. The alphabet - available as an app - consists of all the flowers cultivated in the Netherlands and France. With the app everyone is stimulated to write in the flower language, on Facebook, Twitter, websites and blogs.

On Instagram and Facebook
The image of flowers will be emphasised especially on Instagram and Facebook through weekly posts of a bouquet and a caption in the flower language. The flowers themselves will be portrayed on Facebook. This year-round communication will be supported at various time points by special activities like digital advertising and a printed advertisement. There will be a downloadable poster for the florists, so they and their shop can participate in the campaign.

Start in 2017
The application for the project #emotiflowers was submitted at the end of April 2016. The formal decision from the European Committee about which projects will be chosen is expected in December. If the proposal from Flower Council Holland / Val'hor is successful, the promotion campaign can be launched in the spring of 2017.
