Photo Report: Flower Expo Poland 2016

The Polish economy is growing and the 40 million people there are fond of flowers. These are the two reasons why Poland is becoming an interesting country for flower producers and traders. So, high time for them to take a closer look at this market. The Flower Expo Poland, that took place last week in Warsaw, offered them this opportunity.

The Flower Expo Poland is a new exhibition that has been added to the Green is Life exhibition, which was held for the 24th time. In total 71 plant-and flower traders from 13 countries joined Green is Life. The visitors appreciated the new concept and were, according to the exhibitors, predominantly interested. A lot of photos were taken and they collected a lot of flyers. But whether this will lead to new business is still a question.

Challenges
The language is still a barrier for many. The majority of the companies had a polish representative or translator, but the ones who did not were sometimes struggling. Another challenge is the competition. Perhaps due to the economic growth, increasingly more Polish people are starting to cultivate flowers. On top of that, according to some, they are not that strict regarding the 'rules' of using starting material.

Organisation satisfied
The exhibition was held in the Expo XXI in Warsaw from Thursday September 1 till Saturday September 3. The organizers, Bureau Sierteelt, are satisfied and they are eager to organize it again next year. Several parties expressed their interest in next year's edition. Others indicated they met some new prospects and are eager to invest in the Polish market.
