UK: Overwintered perennials trial at BPPC

A trial investigating the production of herbaceous perennials (pot and pack) to increase the product range available for the early spring marketing gap was set up in week 40. Seeds were sown into 104 plug trays in week 29, and germinated under glass, where they remained until transplant. Plugs were transplanted into 1 L pots and jumbo 6-packs, and placed under glass and polythene. Plants will be grown on in a cool regime, with frost protection and heat applied as necessary to achieve marketing in week 13/14 2017.
