Tulipa Rebel Yellow

NL: New Bloomon tulip ready to conquer the world

Together with the growers of Remarkable Tulips, the Tulipa Rebel Yellow was introduced on May 3: the first Bloomon tulip. This brand new yellow-fringed species comes fresh from the Noordoostpolder, the Netherlands, and is ready to conquer the world.

Dutch glory, yellow, with a rebel's edge: the first real Bloomon tulip was born. The Rebel Yellow was festively baptized in the Amsterdam Hoxton Hotel on May 3. Cause for celebration was that another step has been taken in the development of Bloomon, this time in close collaboration with growers-collective Remarkable Tulips. "This cooperation is very important to us," says Patrick Hurenkamp, one of the three founders of Bloomon. "With our growers and stylists we are always looking for remarkable flowers. The fact that we are now for the first time launching a new species together makes it much more exciting. We are showing the world that we are doing more than just delivering high-end seasonal flowers."

Fresh from the field
The Rebel Yellow is an early bloomer with a large flower that opens completely. You will clearly see that the petals are fringed from top to bottom. "The strong stem continues to grow in a vase and will grow into those beautiful twists," stylist Anton van Duijn says. "That gives it exactly that rebellious aspect that fits Bloomon so well."

Grower Peter Leijten emphasizes the special character of the new species, which he himself simply calls 'the Bloomon tulip'. "You will not find this tulip in the supermarket any time soon, it is too big and special for that."

The first Rebel Yellows come from his field in Ens near Emmeloord. There they have just been picked for the loyal fans, of whom a some will find the soft yellow newcomer already in their bouquet tomorrow. That's the principle of Bloomon: The flowers come straight from the field bypassing auction or florist, so that they are delivered freshly to your door.

Dutch Design
The young company has a growing group of customers in England, Germany, Denmark and Belgium. There too, they will soon be introduced to the Rebel Yellow. Hurenkamp: "Now that the famous Dutch bulb fields are at their most beautiful, with this tulip we also present a beautiful business card across the border - Dutch Design from the low lands. The first batch, just picked, is relatively small, but next year you will see them more often. "
