New roof cleaner fits below outside screen installation
With increasing wages and decreasing availability of skilled people, automation has become an important factor at greenhouse projects. Also outside maintenance work is subject to automation these days, in developed industries, but also in countries where high tech greenhouse development is just taking off.
A good example is the recent installation of a Top Cleaner roof washer at a Chinese greenhouse grower. For this customer of Royal Brinkman, Dutch machine builder Van der Waay tailor-made a roof washer with special dimensions that work with the outside screen installation.
The top cleaner on the roof, below the outside screen installation. As you can see it was the appropriate time to clean the glass.
Due to the outside screen installation, it was a challenge for van der Waay to design a roof washer that could run below the low hanging screen installation. They succeeded by making a design that was not only low enough, but also narrow enough to run in the gutter channel between the screen system support posts.

The Chinese grower was this happy with his new machine that he takes it for a ride.
