Ter Laak AmericaS officially opened

The greenhouse in Guatemala, around 1 ha in size, will provide retailers in the country and its neighbors with orchids, as well as shipping young plants to growers all over the Americas.
The greenhouse is a plastic tunnel, six meters in height and 12.80 meters wide. Most of the technology comes from the Netherlands: a double screen, fogging, CO2, irrigation, tables and heating, which will be of particular use given the altitude of 1750 meters. The facility also boasts the latest climate computers. Apart from climate control, no further high-tech automation is included, because labor is cheap and there's sufficient knowledge on clearing up technical defects, according to Ter Laak.
Take a look inside the greenhouse and find out more: Ter Laak AmericaS Facebook page.
