Digitalisation of the service provision is desperately needed. It will make the trade in the horticultural sector more accessible and simpler. To strengthen their position, Royal FloraHolland have been working since June 2017 together with FloraXchange, and they launched their creation, Floriday, during the Trade Fair 2017.
For customers and growers, Royal FloraHolland wants to focus fully on realising the digital marketplace, including Floriday. And on efficient logistic systems which will allow them in the future to deliver the growers' products faster to customers.
Strategic partnerships
In the past year, Royal FloraHolland have formed strategic partnerships with OGD and Conclusion. These companies have taken over the parts of the auction's IT in which they specialise. For example, they deal with the management of workplaces and the auction systems for growers and customers.
These partnerships provide input from the latest IT-technologies and methods. They also retain the knowledge and experience of employees as they continue working for us through these partners. This relieves the auction of quite a workload in the management and updating of IT.
Nomination for TOMMIE Award
The way in which they collaborate with external parties within IT has not gone unnoticed. Royal FloraHolland has been nominated for a TOMMIE Award for the Most Successful Company in Sourcing 2017.
