World Floral Expo back to Chicago

World Floral Expo will have its 2018 edition again in Rosemont, Chicago. After a successful trade show 4 years ago in 2014, exhibitors expressed the wish to organize another edition of WFE in the Rosemont Convention Center. Rosemont is 10 minutes away from O’Hare airport and 30 minutes from downtown Chicago.

The show will focus this year on African grown flowers. As Kenya Airways has finally been able to secure landing slots in the USA, the ‘gate’ is opening up for Kenyan flower producers to start exporting to the huge US market. Although the new flight connection is still only to JFK in New York, it can be expected that more cities will follow soon. For this reason a group of at least 12 Kenyan flower growers has already signed up for WFE 2018 and will exhibit with fresh cut flowers grown in Kenya.

This year’s trade show will therefore be very interesting for importers, wholesale distributors as well as for mass market retailers, as different types of fresh cut flowers from the ‘Big 4’ will be on display. Growers from Colombia, Ecuador, Ethiopia and Kenya have confirmed being present with individual stands as well as country pavilions.
