Dutch grower in the spotlight: Vreeken Bouvardia

The family business, Vreeken Bouvardia, is a genuine Bouvardia family. Jaap, the 4th generation and his father Krijn have grown this surprising and versatile flower for more than 30 years.

The Bouvardias from Vreeken are grown as a shrub. In this way, the plants grow in a natural way and can use all their energy to create a heavy stem and beautiful, large umbels.

This week, Vreeken has been put in the spotlight at FloraPodium, an inspiration platform of Barendsen, a Dutch importer and exporter of cut flowers. At this platform, the following items are discussed; the Bouvardia, its origin, history, introduction to the market, how the florist and consumer should handle the flower and, of course, how the grower, Vreeken Bouvardia, is continuously improving the cultivation of this crop.
