And chilled and frozen transport is a speciality. Brutra Logistiek B.V. now has a fleet of over 100 trucks - special transport as well as chilled trailer - but that doesn't mean that we're done. "On the contrary, we see enough opportunities to continue to grow," says Ralph. "There are new destinations in sight and there is enough demand of various existing routes to increase the number of journeys. There are also a number of internal investments: a number of trucks need replacing and there are some other new things coming."
Bastrans Holland was founded in November 2001 by Sebastiaan de Vreugd. In July 2002 the first new Scania R500 rig with a refrigerated semi trailer was taken into use. The activities originally mainly consisted of charter transport from Germany to England and for a long time of transport of fruit and vegetables from the Netherlands to Germany. In 2006, 2007 and 2008 the fleet and with it the transport jobs expanded considerably in a short time. They specialised in group transport of fruit/vegetables and flowers/plants to Scandinavia, France, Italy and Germany. As of 2010 the transport activities, "despite the crisis and competition", says Sebastiaan proudly, to Eastern Europe - Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria - have expanded. The number of trucks and trailers also grew.
The current transport activities in the form of Bastrans Holland consist of transport of flowers and plants to Germany. "Yet the mission," says Sebastiaan, "Remains as strong as ever: reliability, flexibility, speed and quality come first for our customers."
