Blue rose brings elegance to Grammys red carpet

The 60th anniversary of the Grammy Awards was extra special with Suntory Blue Rose Applause being chosen as the flower for the event by Botanical Artist Tu Bloom for the red carpet. Recognizing this rose as unique, Mr. Bloom and his team created gorgeous arrangements, pairing Applause with deep purple Florigene Moonshade carnations. Applause also fits the big event celebrating achievements in recorded music.

To prepare for the Grammy Awards, January 28th at Madison Square Garden in New York City, 4,000 stems of Applause and Moonshade blooms were provided by Suntory Flowers. The flowers were grown and shipped by Maxiflores Farms and Flores Luna Nueva in Colombia, with wholesale importation and distribution provided by Fresca Farms in Miami and George Rallies in New York City.

“This opportunity came about when we met designer Tu Bloom at the Chicago Flower and Garden Show,” says Delilah Onofrey, who manages Suntory Flowers’ bedding plant business in North America. “He and his team have been such a pleasure to work with. We look forward to continuing our partnership and taking each Grammy Awards celebration to the next level. Pretty soon, we’ll be planning the red carpet for 2019!”

In addition to adorning the red carpet for the Grammys, floral arrangements were made for the MusiCares benefit at Radio City Music Hall. MusiCares is the Recording Academy’s charitable organization which supports music industry professionals in their time of need.
