FloraFutura is focusing on digitising, strengthening the function of the auction clock and optimising the chain. "We do this through platforms. Virtually, through our own website florafutura.nl. And during special themed meetings, such as the first at the end of March," say the committee members Rémi van Adrichem (president), Hendrik Breetvelt (secretary), Martin Hogenboom (treasurer) and Frank Timmermans (webmaster). They and seven other founders got to know one another more intensively during the action 'Behoud de Plantenklok' (Maintain the Plant Auction) in 2017 and other discussions in floriculture.
One vote per member
The members of the Vakvereniging FloraFutura all have one vote, regardless of the size of their floriculture company. "We do not go by the right of the largest, but the power of the individual entrepreneur. And FloraFutura is independent and neutral. Our trade union sees a lot of common interests for professional growers and buyers. We will advocate for them, focused on the future, as the name suggests. And based on a rich past," the founders refer to the development of the flower and plant auctions over one hundred years ago. "New times demand new collaborations. The time is right."
