NL: Florensis Cut Flowers expands Lisianthus greenhouse

Florensis Cut Flowers will further expand its production facilities for young Lisianthus plants. Adriaan Vonk, Director of Florensis Cut Flowers, recently signed the tender for the construction of the new greenhouse with a surface area of 13,000 m2. The greenhouse will be built by Bosman Van Zaal in Aalsmeer, the Netherlands, while the design and layout were developed in consultation with AAB NL Adviesbureau.

In recent years, Florensis experienced tremendous growth with selling cut flowers on Dutch and foreign markets. The cultivation of Matthiola and Antirrhinum has been a huge success, and the demand for Lisianthus in particular has risen significantly at home and abroad.

In order to keep up with this growth and also to create future capacity, the new greenhouse in Rijsenhout will be built for the cultivation of Lisianthus and should be up and running by the end of 2018. There will be a cooling installation, 180 mmol illumination and an efficient climate screen and heating installation. The expansion will enable Florensis to supply uniform Lisianthus plants of the highest quality all year long.
