The municipality of Ipekyolu, located in Van, a city in southeastern Turkey, has opened up 3 greenhouses which were set up to grow flowers and plants for the municipality parks and green areas. The greenhouses will be managed by the Parks department of the district and the flowers grown there will be used in various parts of the city to decorate the city and brighten it for its inhabitants.
The flowers used in parks were previously bought from other cities but as of now these greenhouses, each around 10,000 square feet, will provide all the plants and flowers for the parks. The mayor of the district underlined the need and importance of the green areas in the district and that flowers and plants will not only provide fresh air but also contribute to the aesthetic appeal of the district. He also added that they will open up many other parks in the districts for people from all age groups and flowers and plants will be used in these new parks as well.
