NL: Lex Ebus resigns as chairman VGB

Lex Ebus, who since June 2016 has been chairman of the VGB, is resigning for health reasons with immediate effect. Lex Ebus has guided the VGB over the last two years through a turbulent period and for that the board is very grateful to him. Under the leadership of Lex Ebus, a reorganization has taken place and the VGB has started a re-evaluation of tasks and activities. Lex Ebus will remain involved with the VGB as a board member.

The board of the VGB is pleased to be able to announce that Mr. Cees van der Meij, director and major shareholder of Royal Lemkes from Bleiswijk, is prepared to take on the chairmanship ad interim. The board will nominate him for this function to the General Meeting which will take place on 14 June.

Ahead of the general meeting, Cees van der Meij will take over the chair from Lex Ebus. With his managerial experience he brings along a lot of knowledge. The VGB is convinced that he, together with the board and the management, can make an important contribution to the further working out of the VGB vision and also to a number of developments in the floricultural sector where the VGB expects to be able to take major steps shortly.
