Garden Trials: Plantipp and Concept Plants signs up nine introductions for Novelty Trials

Plantipp and Concept Plants participate in the very first edition of the Garden Trials and Trade. The Garden Trials and Trade is the only stop where about 30 companies are showcasing their new varieties in the area of woody plants and perennials. This offers an opportunity to see these innovations in full bloom in the middle of the gardening season. During the Garden Trials, Plantipp and Concept Plants will show their latest introductions and will give a sneak preview of the varieties that will be introduced in 2019.

Nine introductions are signed up for the Novelty Trials. Agastache Beelicious Purple ('Agapd') is an eye-catcher with large, purple flowers. The Ajuga tenorii Princess Nadia ('Piotrek01') has very fine, variegated foliage. The new shoots show a pink colour. Another perennial is the Antirrhinum majus Pretty in Pink ('Pmoore07'), with bright pink flowers with a yellow centre with a unique shape: narrow, elongated and larger than flowers of other Antirrhinum varieties.

A new Lavandula introduction is Lavandula stoechas Dark Night ('Agri447'). Dark Night has large, dark purple flowers, a very rich rebloom and a strong rooting system. And then there is the Leontopodium alpinum Blossom of Snow ('Berghman'). This alpine flower that everyone knows from The Sound of Music, has very large flowers on long stems so they can even be used as cut flowers. And then there is the Saxifraga callosa Icequeen ('HIL201206'), with white flowers and glossy silver foliage. ‘Icequeen’ makes multiple rosettes which is unique for Saxifraga.

Lonicera hybrid 'Celestial' flowers long and abundantly with flowers in the tones of apricot. Rhodohypoxis 'Beverly' has a bright flower colour. Very long flowering period when given some fertilizer after the first bloom. And last but not least: Veronica spicata Snow Candles ('Joca 128'), with masses of pure white flowers. It is compact, bushy and not prone to diseases and pathogens.

Visit the company at stand no. 5. The Garden Trails and Trade will take place in the Plantarium building at the International Trade Centre Boskoop-Hazerswoude on 12, 13 and 14 June 2018.
