As an Engineer specialized in industrial and applied microbiology and PhD in cell and structural biology and microbiology, Gilles Ravot (48 years old) has over 20 years’ experience in the field of biotechnology and the chemical industry.
He started his career as Project Manager for Sanofi then Protéus SA - a cutting-edge biotechnology company - where he was appointed R&D Director and later Managing Director in 2007. Since 2012, he has been Managing Director of SAS PIVERT - a bioeconomy company that aims to accelerate the industrialization of innovation in bio-based chemistry by developing and selling new products and processes.
“Through the various positions he has held, Gilles has acquired technical and strategic knowledge, a perfect combination to contribute to the construction of our company’s future” said Jean-Paul Simmler, CEO of the Group. “Considering what is at stake and the large number of ongoing projects, I am delighted to entrust him with the role that I have been carrying out up until now.”
Gilles Ravot’s mission will be to continue the construction of the products range of tomorrow for the whole Group, on the professional and consumer markets, in partnership with the local teams. Research and development, new technologies, strategic partnerships and regulatory challenges are at the core of his activity. Gilles Ravot joins the Executive Committee of SBM Company.
