A show-within-a-show

US (FL): Flowers shine at PMA's new Floral Marketplace

With the convention already starting yesterday, Thursday October 18 in Orlando (FL), the PMA Fresh Summit Expo is opening its doors today. The PMA is a large and important exhibition for the fresh produce industry and the number of floral exhibitors is growing every year. This year, the floral lineup features more than 130 exhibitors, including 35 new exhibitors.

During the event, that will last till October 20, floral buyers, sellers, breeders and growers will come together in an expanded show-within-a-show Floral Marketplace located in a dedicated area on the right side of the Fresh Summit show floor. Floral floor space has increased by 10,000 square feet over previous years.

Fresh Summit provides an opportunity for those across the mass-market floral supply chain to see what’s new and what’s next. Breeders and growers interested in entering or expanding in the U.S. floral retail market have an opportunity to connect with buyers.

In total, over 1,200 exhibiting companies are attending the expo and  then 20,000 participants throughout the global fresh produce and floral supply chains come together as a community to learn, network, build relationships, and do business. The event brings together produce and floral industry leaders, retail buyers, food safety experts and importers/exporters from across the globe.

On Friday night, Oct. 19, the floral community is invited to the Flamingle Reception to enjoy food, drinks, entertainment, and networking with movers and shakers. The 2019 Floral Marketer of the Year Award, which honors lifetime efforts to advance and improve the mass-market floral industry, will be presented at the reception.

FloralDaily will also be present at the show and the Flamingle Reception. Photos of the reception and the announcement of the 2019 Floral Marketer of the Year Award will be published on Monday October 22, followed by the photo report of the show the day after on October 23.
