India: 200,000 stems of flowers for fairytale wedding

A glamorous fairytale wedding is being celebrated in India, for which more than 200,000 stems of flowers have been ordered. Before the festivities could start growers, logistics staff and flower arrangers collaborated closely to decorate the beautiful venue.

Over 200,000 stems
Thanks to a collaboration between FleuraMetz’s sales, logistics and purchasing divisions as well as its Preferred Suppliers the flower arrangers were able to amaze the wedding guests with a genuine festival of flowers. It was quite a logistics puzzle to ship 120,000 Vanda orchids, 50,000 hydrangeas, 9,000 stems of moth orchids, 8,000 calla lilies, 7,000 peonies and numerous other stems of flowers such as Hellebore, stocks and Thlaspi Green Bells so that they would arrive in India fresh, intact and at the same time. Two entire aircraft were dedicated exclusively to delivering 20,000 kilos of flowers directly from the Netherlands and 5,000 directly from South America.

Successful together
The following Preferred Suppliers collaborated to provide the wedding with flowers: Leo van der Helm (The Netherlands), Valley Springs (Colombia), Jenny Flowers (Colombia), De Haas Growing (The Netherlands), Anco Pure Vanda (The Netherlands), Del Golfo (Italy), Aviv (Israel), Ichtus Flowers (The Netherlands) and Montana Lisianthus (The Netherlands).
