Ruud van der Hoeven, Qualily:

“Our cooperation sounds like a fairy tale”

The owners of Qualily are not related, but they do lead a company together. How is it possible that they only need half a word to get things done?

The age difference of fifteen years is not a problem. On the contrary, it is the reason why Ruud van der Hoeven (51) and Raymond Vijverberg (36) complement each other. Ruud laughs: "Our cooperation sounds like a fairy tale." Ruud was 23 when he started his own company with 1 ha of garden lilies. After a few years, he managed to grow to 2 ha. The expansion of Qualily made Ruud realize that he could not handle everything on his own anymore, not if he wanted to develop new ideas and continue to grow. That is why Raymond became the co-owner in 2008.

A flourishing company
The two gentlemen clearly divide the tasks: Raymond is focused on planning, sales and energy, while Ruud handles growth, bulb purchase and the organization. This proved it to be the perfect choice, based on years of success that ensued. Today, Qualily has grown into a flourishing company of 10 ha.

True buddies
Ruud: "Raymond and I are true buddies. In the ten years that we've been working together, we've never had a fight. Good communication and daring to speak your mind are essential. Establishing a strong organization with a clear policy is what is most important. Only then will customers find you interesting. Thanks to the cooperation with Raymond and the correct division of tasks, Qualily has grown into a very important player in the market. I do what I'm good at and Raymond does what he's good at."
