New substrate for the cultivation of blueberries in containers to be launched

Blueberry growers are more and more switching from full soil cultivation to container growing, an evolution we have previously seen in other red fruits such as strawberries, and even raspberries. Growing out-of-the-soil has many advantages for growers, since they can gain much better control of growing conditions, with improved watering and better fertigation strategies.

In response, and in close partnership with growers, Greenyard Horticulture has developed an innovative substrate specially designed for blueberry cultivation in pots. Depending on the growing conditions at the blueberry growers, the composition of the substrate can be adapted and fertilizers and microbial biostimulators can be added to fully adapt the substrate to their requirements. The container substrate is also stable for the whole cultivation.
