Increasing demand for alternative resources in substrate

Netherlands: New building Klasmann-Deilmann in Schiedam

In April, substrate supplier Klasmann-Deilmann Benelux starts building their new production hall for the GreenFiber wood fiber product. The first phase of the new production hall will measure 4,000 m2. Because of the advanced automatization, Greenfiber will be produced 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The extension is necessary to deal with the rise in demand for substrate with alternative natural resources. GreenFibre plays an integral part in that, because it is sustainable, produced locally and guarantees a high and constant quality of substrate. In addition, GreenFibre is RHP certified.

By moving the production of wood fiber to the new production hall, more space opens up in the existing buildings where the company can then process substrate and expand its substrate laboratory.

Increasing demand for alternative resources
At the moment, Klasmann-Deilmann’s substrates contain over 20% alternative resources, and all substrates meet the highest quality standards. In the near future, Klasmann-Deilmann expects to increase the amount of alternative resources substantially without causing any loss of quality.
