Jamie Kitz of Sakata Seed America honored by American Academy of Floriculture

Jamie Kitz, Key Account Manager and Corporate Citizenship Specialist of Sakata’s corporate giving program, Sakata Gives, has received a prestigious American Academy of Floriculture (AAF) designation.

The American Academy of Floriculture carries out the efforts of the Society of American Florists (SAF), a national trade organization for all participants of the U.S. floral industry. Achieving designation into AAF requires displaying an incredible commitment to both the community and floral industry. The stringent requirements of the Academy make AAF status an honorable distinction recognized throughout the industry.

“This is an extremely prestigious honor that reflects Jamie’s true passion and commitment to our industry and beyond. This milestone recognizes the tremendous work Jamie’s done in areas such as lobbying, charitable giving, industry advocacy and much more,” states Joe Cimino, Head of Ornamentals for Sakata Seed America.

Jamie is a longtime member of SAF and has been instrumental in carrying out the organization's initiatives to promote the floral industry, including National ‘Petal it Forward’ Day, which spreads joy and elevates consumers perceptions about flowers in more than 400 cities in all 50 states.

Jamie, along with other newly selected members of the Academy, will be officially inducted into AAF at the Stars of the Industry Awards Dinner on September 21st, 2019 at SAF’s annual convention at the Ritz Carlton in Amelia Island, Florida.
