"A good logistics network is important for logistics service providers"

More and more greenhouse builders and installers are aiming to do business abroad, but shipping abroad requires a lot of focus. All of the materials need to be delivered on time in order to keep up with the deadlines, so a logistics service provider is usually called upon.

Martin van Dueren-den Hollander and Roland Steenbakker

Share Logistics is a logistics service provider that knows how to handle assignments like these. Martin van Dueren-den Hollander and Roland Steenbakker are two faces that will be familiar to most of the greenhouse builders. From their headquarters in the harbor of Rotterdam, they take care of all their greenhouse projects.

Network
Martin: "And we seem to be doing this pretty well, because our company is undergoing rapid growth. Of course, we do have a lot going for us with all of the Dutch activities abroad, but we also always deliver. Thanks to our professional network we manage to score big. The partners in our network are certified, screened and have their finances in order. We can trust our partners.”

Share Logistics has named the greenhouse horticultural industry as one of their spearheads, or better yet their specialty. Greenhouse horticulture is a unique industry within the shipping industry after all. Most of the time the destinations are difficult to reach and sometimes there is not even a real address. In these cases, the coordinates are provided. Roland: “It doesn’t matter to us. We will deliver no matter what.”

The volumes of the deliveries for the greenhouse horticultural industry are larger than the average shipments. Share’s foreign partners are aware of this and are able to handle these amounts as well. Share Logistics established a name for themselves.

Modalities
Share Logistics started out as a typical ocean-freight focused forwarder based in the Port of Rotterdam. Since then a lot has changed:

  • Besides the partners in their network, Share Logistics also has offices in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic, America, Panama, and Brazil. Peru and Mexico will soon be added to that list.
  • All modes of transport are now offered; this includes air and road transport. Roland: “With this, Share Logistics is a full-fledged logistics service provider in the Netherlands.

The Share air freight offices (at both Schiphol and Rotterdam The Hague Airport) are also being used by greenhouse builders. This mainly involves last-minute orders of (smaller) transports. The larger air shipments are often for the cannabis sector.
