On the 10th and 11th of October Rose Handling Services, Kneppers Roses, Fresco Flowers and Flower Business Support (FBS) organize a Meet and Greet in Rijnsburg.
“In recent years we have noticed that Royal FloraHolland make less and less money available for Meet and Greets and, in our opinion, the IFTF and the Trade Fair don’t have the desired effect”, says Jaap Snijer of FBS. “We think that Rijnsburg is still very important to growers, and we want to show the exporters, and especially the hauliers, what there is to offer and what is still to come”.
During the gathering, the rose will take center stage. All unpackers/growers that are unpacking at Rijnsburg are being represented.
Kneppers Roses are the unpackers of their own flowers from Kenya; Rose Handling Service is an unpacker of The Elgon Collection and Sian; Fresco Flowers will be present with grower Ol Njorowa, which is one of the roughly ten growers for which they do the retailing and FBS does the same for the Growers Sierra, Roseto, Equinox, Kimman, Viaflor, Everest, and Qualirosa, and starting the 1st of September they will do the same for Van der Deijl Roses.
On the stage, there are varieties of the breeders Delbard, Interplant Roses, Dümmen Orange, Spek Roses, Kordes Roses, United Selections, Tantau, Continental Breeding and De Ruiter.
The Open Days can be visited on Thursday the 10th of October from 10:00 to 14:00 and – "for the hauliers, who usually get back on Thursday nights and come on Fridays to buy their flowers” – on Friday the 11th of October after the clock till 12.
