Cankaya municipality in Turkey started the production in its greenhouses for winter flowers. The greenhouses were used first to grow summer flowers which decorated all the parks of the city.
The municipality carries out the greenhouse production of all its winter and summer flowers for decorating the city, and municipality staff are working tirelessly in these greenhouses.
Celosia, petunia, antirrhinum, intermediate periwinkle, gazania, common zinnia, ageratum, marigold, and Mexican marigold were among the most grown summer flower varieties in the municipality’s greenhouses.
Now with the production for winter underway, the greenhouse workers are growing 40,000 carnations in addition to 300,000 violas and 30,000 chrysanthemums. Furthermore, outdoor plants and trees are also grown in municipality facilities. The city officials remarked that the city will be again full of colorful flowers during winter.
