Chinese and Dutch collaborate in sustainable protected horticulture

On the 5th and 6th of September, the city of Taizhou (Jiangsu) was host to the largest-ever Dutch horticulture roadshow. The twenty-two companies participating in the Taizhou roadshow for the horticluster first visited Chongming, where they discussed the 2021 Chongming Flower Expo and joined matchmaking activities. Afterwards, they attended the Sino-Dutch Sustainable Protected Horticulture Technology Seminar in Taizhou.

The theme of the seminar, sustainable protected horticulture, was aptly chosen. The Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality puts significant emphasis on developing a sustainable, circular economy.

In addition to the roadshow, the founding stone was laid for the Taizhou Dutch Oriental Agricultural Town. This is a cooperation between Dutch companies, local companies, and the Taizhou government to develop greenhouses and horticulture.
