Freesia offers opportunities for sensory experiences in flower

Most customers choose flowers based on their shape and colour, because these properties are the ones that stand out the most. It’s up to florists to highlight the flowers’ most special property: scent. The most eminent flower to showcase this natural gift is the Freesia. Flower Factor recorded two special videos together with scent specialist Roos Lubbers for the Dutch Freesia growers of Royal FloraHolland in which they share ideas for sensory experiences in flower shops.

Roos Lubbers, author of the perfume guide ‘De Parfumgids’ and floral designer Pim van den Akker show how scent can trigger customers. They share some simple ideas that can be used by every florist in any shop. In the second video, they compose different Freesia bouquets, all based on scent and aroma therapy. Both videos offer inspiration and a different view on scent and shopping experience.
