Brits read bedtime stories to plants as they’ll be ‘encouraged to grow’

Green-fingered Brits have a new book to leaf through — called Bedtime Stories for Plants.

The idea stems from research saying talking helps them to grow after dark.

The book of three short tales has been produced by rental site SpareRoom for young tenants.

The firm said: “It’s designed for ‘plant parents’ to read aloud to their houseplants to encourage growth at night.”

The first story is called The Three Ferns and tells of their dreams in a garden centre nursery.

The second, Longing, is about a lonely houseplant neglected by its owner.

What Goes Around is a story of a plant-lover who gives his away to make others happy.
