Plans to expand a major East Yorkshire flower manufacturer have been given the green light.
JZ Flowers, in Newport, previously submitted plans to add a new storage building to its site, to meet growing demand for its products.
The business produces around 12 million flower stems every week, and supplies bouquets to some of the biggest supermarkets in the country.
Its expansion plans were met by some objection, with the owner of a neighbouring solar farm arguing the new storage building would at times block sunlight from the site.
However, JZ’s plans have now been given the go-ahead, as East Riding Council approved the application.
