February 28-March 1, Charlotte

US (NC): 2020 National Floriculture Forum

The dates of the 2020 National Floriculture Forum are February 28 – March 1 (note that it is a leap year!) in Charlotte, NC. The timing of the NFF overlaps with AFE’s Board Meeting. Several joint meals and a field trip are planned to allow for interaction.

The NFF continues an annual tradition dating back to the early 1990s. It is an educational meeting for industry leaders, university faculty, graduate students and government scientists from academic institutions, governmental agencies and the greenhouse industry.

The meeting brings together diverse floricultural communities with the objectives to:

  1. Address issues of importance to the floriculture industry
  2. Form collaborative relationships,
  3. Improve communication within the American floriculture industry to share and disseminate information

Schedule
The 2020 NFF starts with a field trip to Metrolina Greenhouses in the afternoon of Friday, February 28 for those arriving early. Then, presentations and discussions on Saturday, February 29 and the morning of Sunday, March 1. Topics include the impact of hemp on the floriculture industry, how to develop effective collaborations, effective outreach to the floriculture industry, and other topics. Suggestions for additional topics are still being accepted. There also will be ample time for networking during breaks.

The host hotel will be the Fairfield Inn & Suites Charlotte Airport. They provide free airport transportation, as well as free breakfast. Reservations can be made at:

Reservations must be made by Tuesday, January 28, 2020. Registration costs will be low, partly thanks to a generous grant from AFE.
