Dymak expands sustainable range of concepts

As part of Dymak’s focus for 2020 on developing more sustainable and environmentally friendly products and accessories for its customers, Dymak has turned towards India as a sourcing destination. The collection is split into glass and various discarded plant sources, like wood dust, Kanchan petals, banana skins and orket leaves. Starting with glass, as it is one of the most popular products used today, an important component of the Indian economy and one of the easiest materials to recycle. Dymak’s glass collection is 100% recyclable and can be recycled perpetually.

Each of Dymak’s glass containers in their 2020 collection is artfully hand-crafted from recycled glass. Having worked with Indian manufacturers for over a decade, Dymak has formed long lasting collaborations and has also offered new opportunities for local glass blowers and their communities in Northern India.

Another concept, which Dymak is the first to bring on the market in the form of plant containers, is the mixing of various plant sources with a recycled plastic base. By combining creativity and inventiveness with some of India’s countless natural resources, a brand-new product collection has come to life. Appearance and overall esthetic aspect of the products are checked and passed by Dymak’s quality controllers according customer requirements.

“The Home & Garden industry has a great challenge ahead with respect to recyclability, end-of-life recovery and single-use plastic. Even though we do not have all of the answers yet, we owe it to current and future generations to find better solutions and actively focus on important environmental issues”, says Claus Bøgelund, CEO of Dymak.

Focus on sustainable materials and packaging
For 2020 Dymak enters the Home & Garden sector with a clear focus on sustainable materials, with beautiful items sourced from all over Asia: recycled glass from India, basketware, recycled rubber and bamboo from Vietnam, coffee husks, nutshell, straw and chaff from China. As part of its commitment to reduce the use of natural resources, and overall environmental footprint, Dymak will also introduce a new line of packaging solutions, made entirely of kraft paper, as well as plant tags made from bamboo.

Bamboo planters sourced in Vietnam get special attention this year in a variety of colors and natural finishes as it is the perfect material to celebrate Nordic living and natural interiors. The colors have been chosen to encourage peaceful spaces and happiness. The shapes are rounded, organic and with the well-known elegance of Scandinavian design. The philosophy behind this collection is to create beautiful and trendy home accessories that perfectly integrate with nature and are affordable for the average consumer as well.
