UK: Provender Nurseries host launch of PlantBox by Biotecture

Last week at Provender Nurseries saw the launch of PlantBox - a brand new, innovative product for vertical planting and creating ‘living walls’ produced by industry experts Biotecture. Provender Nurseries is the first trade supplier of PlantBox in the UK.

Over three days, Matt Lindsay, Project Manager, was on hand for customers, demonstrating how the troughs fit together, how the water reservoir works and showing how easy PlantBox is to assemble, install, maintain, water and plant.

Made in the UK from lightweight, UV resistant 100% recycled plastic, the clever design incorporates a self-contained planting area and water reservoir with a filter and water level indicator that holds 1.8L of water reducing the need to top up the water level to approximately every 2-3 weeks. The separate self-contained water tank and filter ensure that soil does not clog up the water tank.  Water is obtained by the plant by a capillary wick that extends into both the water reservoir and planting area. There is no need for an exterior water supply and units can be hand watered to fill the reservoir.

PlantBox is suitable for use in both commercial and domestic settings and can be used in almost any configuration on a vertical surface. Each unit measures 600mm x 200mm x 150mm and can be used individually, stacked together using clips provided for strength or even as a free-standing unit. PlantBox is suitable for both exterior and interior use and can be attached to any surface if needed by 6mm screws.

Plants in 1L pots should be used to give maximum impact and coverage although smaller plants can be used if required. Any multipurpose is suitable to use when planting. Each trough requires four 1L pots and 7L of compost.

PlantBox is available at Provender Nurseries and is priced to appeal to all trade customers with multi-buy price options on unit numbers of 1 ,3, 10, 25 and a pallet rate of 182 units. PlantBox is supplied in kit form for self-assembly.

The PlantBox Trust will receive £1.00 from each purchase which is used to support charities and initiatives that are focused on providing better air, cleaner water, nutrition and enriching spaces where it can make a difference to people’s lives.
