Russian retailer starts direct sourcing of flowers from Africa

X5, a large Russian food retailer, announces the start of direct flower supplies from Ethiopia through RVI, the company’s subsidiary responsible for direct imports.The roses grown by Afriflora Sher company are cultivated at the largest rose farm in the world in accordance with Fairtrade standards. The flowers are offered for sale in Pyaterochka and Perekrestok stores in Moscow, Moscow region and St. Petersburg. X5 is Russia’s first food retailer to deliver fresh flowers directly from Africa.
