"Our green industry is essential"

In Georgia, there has been much talk of closing non-essential businesses. The GGIA have been hard at work to have the green industry included in the essential designation. Here is a copy of the letter they sent to Commissioner Black and other officials at the state and local levels. The GDA sent a press release that included the green industry in its definition of critical infrastructure.

However, many decisions around COVID-19 response still lies in the hands of county and city officials. After much effort from GGIA members and other industry members, they were able to ensure that Green Industry companies could continue to operate in Athens-Clarke County around the mandatory shelter in place order. While it is a win, the GGIA does expect other cities to establish similar responses, and they will continue to monitor the situation closely.

If you are experiencing similar challenges in your area, please reach out to GGIA for assistance.
