Kernock Park Plants, hosts of the South West Growers Show for the past two years, has taken the difficult decision to cancel this year’s show planned for Wednesday October 7th, 2020. The decision is based on the uncertainty that the show can operate in such a way to remain completely COVID secure, whilst delivering value for exhibitors and visitors.
Bruce Harnett, Managing Director of Kernock Park Plants commented further to say, “We realise that cancelling the show is a decision that nobody wanted to have to make, but one that we felt was right under the circumstances. There’s so much uncertainty about what we will, or won’t be able to do, and we didn’t want our excellent exhibitors to have to put time and investment into planning for a show that we could not absolutely guarantee would proceed. We simply were not sure of how many visitors would be allowed to attend and how we would be able to interact as you would expect from a show of this nature. With everything that has happened this year, it seems that it will be even more important than ever to publicise our products and services via the channels that are open, so that’s why we’ve developed the South West Growers ShowCase.”
Rather than losing this valuable networking tool, in a particularly tough year, Kernock have decided to offer a free platform for past, present and future exhibitors to showcase their products and services.
Caroline James, show manager said, “All exhibitors will have to do is click the link: ShowCase Entry to complete and submit the form telling us about their company and promotions, or key products that they wish to shout about. They’ll be able to upload 3 minutes of video and 3 pictures of their choice and we will post them on all our media channels including website and social media. What’s more, anyone that sends us their showcase before October, will get a 5% discount for exhibiting at the 2021 show, which we hope will see SWGS bounce back bigger and better than ever!”
“We are of course disappointed to be unable to host the in-person show this year but hope to see many new and familiar faces at the show in 2021, with an expected date of the Wednesday 6th October 2021.”
