kenkamp Plants Ornamentals officially obtained the Fairtrade certificate for their poinsettia mother stock location in Ethiopia and their rooting facility in the Netherlands.
Marc Driessen, Director Beekenkamp Plants Ornamentals says: “Poinsettia is a major breeding and production crop for our company and the supply chain is of great importance to us. For every Fairtrade Poinsettia sold, we have committed that the entire surcharge that is added to the price of young plants will be transferred to the Fairtrade bonus scheme for our employees at the farm in Ethiopia. This means a significant difference to their wages.”
