Cooltec Electronics launches 'Talking Roses'

New digital recording device lets roses talk

Hong Kong based company Cooltec Electronics has developed a smart digital recording device that can download love messages from a smartphone which is then clipped onto a bouquet of roses.

"Previously when you bought a bouquet of roses for your loved one, you had to write your message on a card " said Mike Wismeyer, Cooltec’s CEO. “Now you can record and personalize your message on a smartphone even if you are 1,000 miles away from your loved one”, he added.

There are 2 ways you can record your voice message on the Talking Roses device: 1) the direct way by pressing a green record button on the device itself & talking into the microphone, and 2) The remote way by connecting your smartphone with a dedicated smartphone number a florist has made available on his/her website, then record and send your message through WhatsApp or Messenger to the florist’s smartphone or website. The florist will then download the message into the Talking Roses using a provided cable. In both cases the receiving party presses a pink heart-shaped button on the front and hears the message being replayed.

On the left the gift set and on the right the recording device.

Talking Roses is targeted mostly at Millennials & all romantics who want something new and different. Cooltec also offers a ready-made Giftset, 3 artificial roses with the Talking Roses already clipped in a giftbox, mainly targeted at kids & other romantics to offer mothers and teachers.

Dutchman Mike Wismeyer, who has a background both in flowers and consumer electronics, said he got the idea when sitting in a flower shop. He gave one of his existing toy recording products to a 10-year-old who played around with it while sitting in front of roses on display. The discussion turned to brainstorming about making the roses talk. The finished product is new, it’s different, it’s easy to use and easy to attach to the bouquet with the patented Talking Roses clip. “We’ve had a great reaction from every lady who has tested the product”, said Wismeyer.

To be of help to those hubbies or boyfriends who are shy or just don't know what to say, the Talking Roses website (www.talking-roses.com) has a section with Love Poems and Happy Birthday greeting suggestions. “It's a new idea, simple and easy to understand without explanation.”, Wismeyer concluded.

Say it with flowers and in your own voice, it’s unique, nothing like this exists. It's very timely in these troubled times when we need to show each other more love & caring. Cooltec has partnered with distributors in the Flower & Gift business and with some major Online Flower delivery services in the USA, Europe and Asia and Talking Roses will be available in florists and gift shops this Christmas and for next Valentines at a MSRP of $12.95
