Dreams Rhodee: The new addition of Beekenkamp Plants' ornamentals family

"The new Dreams Begonia from Beekenkamp Plant Ornamentals is cute, powerful and stands out for its beautiful, cheerful appearance", the breeder states in a press release. This plant has the same characteristics as Rhodee, the granddaughter of An Beekenkamp. That is one of the reasons this new Dreams is named after her; Rhodee.

“As a breeder we are always looking for something better, something new, which is an advantage for the whole supply chain. We are proud to say that we have once again developed a beautiful plant,” says Marc Driessen, director of Beekenkamp Plants Ornamentals. “We are even more proud of her name: “Rhodee”, named after the second granddaughter of An Beekenkamp. Rhodee is a perfect addition to our Dreams collection,” he continues.

“It was such a pleasant surprise when the Marketing department came to tell me that they were going to launch a beautiful, strong plant and would like to call her after my second granddaughter the beautiful “ Rhodee ”. To be on the safe side, I consulted my daughter and she was just as happy and proud as I am with this beautiful birth message. The Dreams has already been shining for a number of weeks in my garden and on my daughter's table,” says An Beekenkamp.

The deep pink color of this double-flowered Dreams Begonia Rhodee is particularly well reflected by the contrast with the dark green foliage. The flowers look like pink roses and because of the round shape and compact growth, this plant is also suitable for small pot sizes. Rhodee hardly needs any PGR, so more crop efficient for the grower. With its beautiful color and strong character, Rhodee gives the garden, patio or living room a colorful boost! You may have seen “Rhodee”, as she was formerly known as BEEL4100, in our show garden as a test last year. The shelf life has been tested too and is rated with a 4.8 out of 5 points.
