Leendert-Jan Plaisier new COO Royal FloraHolland

Leendert-Jan Plaisier has been appointed Chief Operational Officer (COO) of Royal FloraHolland starting 1 December. As COO, he will be a part of the Management Team. Leendert-Jan Plaisier (47) has more than twenty years of experience in logistics. Right now, he is Director Logistical Solutions Benelux with Post NL. Since 1997, he has held several positions within the logistics departments of Post NL and TNT Post, as well as positions in the field of e-commerce at companies in the Netherlands, the Benelux and in Germany.

CEO Steven van Schilfgaarde: "Leendert-Jan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of logistics to the table. His experience with the delivery each day of huge numbers of packages, based on fulfillment can be directly applied here. Leendert-Jan is very well versed in the possibilities and limitations of digitisation in logistics. Our conversations have shown a very clear focus on customer needs, which has been the driver for Royal Floraholland with regards to the development of new services. I am convinced that the arrival of Leendert-Jan will further strengthen the implementation of our strategy."

Opportunities and dynamics
Leendert-Jan Plaisier: "I am looking forward to contributing to the changing agenda of Royal FloraHolland with my new colleagues from Operations, Commerce and the supporting departments. Programs such as 100% Digital and Nationwide Auctioning require adjustments within the operation, but at the same time offer so many opportunities. The opportunities and dynamics within such an impressive logistics operation have made me very enthusiastic. In addition, the pride felt for the products flowers and plants and the down-to-earth attitude in the industry appeal to me greatly. The coming years will be very important for Royal FloraHolland to further strengthen its position with growers and buyers of flowers and plants. I look forward to using my experience and capabilities to achieve this together."

With the arrival of Leendert-Jan Plaisier, the position of COO has been filled once again. The position was admirably filled in the interim by Ron van 't Hoog and Anne Willem van der Meulen.
