At a global level, the contribution of ergonomics to improve and optimize work systems in terms of health, safety, and productivity has been demonstrated. However, in organizational and social terms, one of the reasons that have limited its potential and marked positive influence is the lack of a systemic approach during its implementation.
Objective: To evaluate the level of ergonomic maturity of a Colombian company in the floriculture sector from a systemic perspective.
Methods: The macroergonomic method Ergonomic Maturity Model was used. In the evaluation process, 61 workers from the company participated voluntarily.
Three tools were applied to assist in the maturity assessment: the model assessment matrix, the model element weighting questionnaire, and a detailed questionnaire.
As a result of applying the Ergonomic Maturity Model in the floriculture company, a maturity level of 1 was obtained, which corresponds to a state of ignorance. Similarly, the elements evaluated that reached lower levels of maturity were strategic alignment, person in charge, compensation, information system, and risk assessment.
Conclusion: The Ergonomic Maturity Model allowed identifying the critical elements that prevented the development of ergonomics in the company.
