Fairtrade chats: Marcus Bustamante, sales manager Ponte Tresa

The third conversation in Florist Supply's Fairtrade chat series takes place between Director of Cut Flower Operations, Tyler Paterson, and Marcus Bustamante, Sales Manager at Ponte Tresa.

Ponte Tresa is located in Ecuador, in the Cayambe region. Since 1985, they have grown flowers in a culture based on social and environmental concerns that eventually prompted them to become Fairtrade Certified.

With help from their Fairtrade funds, they have been able to develop local schools, medical benefits services, a house crediting, and a basic food program. Fairtrade has also ensured that the standards for the chemicals they use in their greenhouses are high, which has had positive effects on the environment.
