Visitors flock to California's flower fields

The flower fields, 34 miles north of San Diego, showcase more than 70 million flowers and create an annual spectacle when the flowers bloom, draws visitors from across California and beyond.

"I am so happy we're open again," said Fred Clarke, the Flower Fields General Manager. "Last year we were nine months in and we had to mow the crop down. And the thing that I love most and I missed the most about last year was really seeing the experience and realizing the experience that the color brings to the guest."

The Carlsbad Flower Fields are open to the public until May 9.
