Part 3:

Sneak Peek California Summer Trials 2021

In just a few weeks, the California Summer Trials will take place. From 23-27 June several breeders will present their novelties and highlights and in the weeks in the run-up to the trials, FloralDaily presents one highlight per participating company in various parts. In this part, we present the highlights of American Takii, Suntory and Beekenkamp Plants.

American Takii - Petunia F1 Opera Supreme Lemon

Petunia F1 Opera Supreme Lemon features a magnificent 36 inch spread while maintaining a low habit, no more than 10 inches in height. Plants flower from the center out so the plant is full of color from center to tip. Bred to have tight internodes, each branch is packed with flowers that have excellent rain recovery, plants stay colorful from grower to retail to consumer.

More of American Takii's varieties will be on display at their location in Salinas (301 Natividad Rd ) from Wednesday, June 23 to Sunday, June 27. The hours of operation are 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Suntory Flowers - Mandevilla ‘Sun Parasol Sunbeam’

Suntory Flowers introduces Sunbeam, the first yellow in Sun Parasol mandevillas. This new variety fits the Original Group. Plants have a bushy habit for hanging baskets and containers. Rich buttery yellow blooms have darker throats. Sunbeam is loaded with buds that bloom 2-3 weeks earlier than older varieties.

More varieties of Suntory FLowers will be presented in Santa Paula (14545 W. Telegraph Rd.) from Wednesday, June 23 to Sunday, June 27. Hours of operation 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Beekenkamp Plants - Petunia Tea Indigo Vein

The Tea series of petunias has been developed for ultimate performance by the gardener, with outstanding weather tolerance, but with extremely early flowering the grower can take advantage of a full season of sales opportunities. The vigorous mounding habits mean that the plant is easy to control at production and the consumer will get great value and ultimate satisfaction in their gardens.

The vein types in the Tea line are great eye-catchers and create strong impulse sales. Indigo Vein is our newest color to this collection to pair up with Magenta Vein, Purple Vein and Blue Vein.

This petunia along with more varieties of Beekenkamp Plants will be on display in Santa Paula (15245 W. Telegraph Rd.) Wednesday, June 23 to Sunday, June 27. Hours of operation 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
