Fluffy and Sunset Fire

Germany: Gardengirls novelties presented at the Heidelights

The silvery, velvety Fluffy is a new variety of Gardengirls. Its special feature is the soft, light foliage which makes it unique for the garden and floristry. With this silvery, slightly hairy foliage, which lies scaly against the thick soft shoots, the velvet heather Fluffy looks downright cuddly. The fluffy leaves and flower buds of Fluffy are a great decorative trend and a special feature in the calluna range. The foliage beauty can be combined with other flowering callunas and autumn plants. But the innovative cultivation goes even further: the long shelf life of the heather panicles in the pot allows for versatile uses. The cut shoots, which can be used very well for do-it-yourself projects, are characterized by longevity and are also suited for floristry.

At Walbeck Castle, Fluffy could be experienced in real life and be touched. Different decoration ideas were also presented, such as planting in tubs and pots, as a woven wreath, or tied heather ball.

Consumer interest in the velvety Fluffy is additionally supported by a large-scale marketing campaign. In addition to TV appearances, numerous publications in the garden, women's, home, and lifestyle magazines as well as online portals in words and pictures have already been seen. In addition, consumers can find information about Do it yourself on its own website www.gardengirls.de online photo series, and explanatory videos.

"The `Sunset Fire` by Gardengirls provides atmospheric moments"
Another novelty is the Sunset Fire combinations. They inspire with red-orange, yellow, green, black, or silver shoots that resemble the silhouette of a fire. The plus point of Sunset Fire: instead of flowers, it adorns itself with foliage and delights the end-user with a long shelf life until spring. The foliage even survives strong frosts without damage. The hardy plant remains attractive throughout the winter and can be pruned back in spring to show its colorfulness in the following years.

It finds a place in many locations due to its robustness. Autumnal decorations can also be made with the heather branches. Many florists give positive feedback here, as Sunset Fire can be placed well in bowls or pots and the plant is suitable for naturalistic floristry. Even in dry floristry, the Sunset Fire mixes have a shelf life of weeks. In September 2021, the marketing campaign was launched with press releases in consumer and trade magazines, TV appearances, blogger relations, Instagram, and photo galleries.
