China: Local cultivation company and Flowers Fair bring out each other's best

In 2005, Lanjun Horticulture began to participate in the China Seedlings and Flowers Fair. For more than ten years, the company and the Fair have grown together, and now 2 million potted flowers are sold from Feixi County, Anhui Province every year.

Optimal environment
In the greenhouse of Lanjun Horticulture in Anhui, Xie Guangkun, head of Lanjun Horticulture, is checking the growth of the Phalaenopsis. He specifically prepared 60 new varieties for the 2021 China Hefei Seedlings and Flowers Fair.

"Our greenhouse can adjust the temperature and humidity at any time to provide the most suitable growth conditions for the Phalaenopsis." The Phalaenopsis is native to tropical rainforest areas, and the greenhouse simulates its environment. The temperature is always maintained at 18~26 °C, and the humidity is 60%~80%. At present, the company has more than 140 varieties of Phalaenopsis sold to Shaanxi, Shandong, Beijing, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, and other places, and exported to Vietnam.

For a long time, Pengxu Village, where Lanjun Horticulture is located, mainly planted seedlings and flowers. As the earliest flower enterprise settled in Pengxu Village, Lanjun Horticulture has grown from a 2000 m2 greenhouse when it was established to 15,600 m2 now.

Seedling Fair drives sustainable development of enterprises
As a local flower cultivation company, Lanjun Horticulture has participated in the Seedling Fair since 2005. In 2010, Lanjun Horticulture established the province's only high-end potted flower engineering technology research center and has a self-developed tissue culture laboratory. "The Seedling Fair provides us with a platform for exchanges and transactions. More importantly, through this platform, we can promote the introduction of new varieties and new technologies."
