Fires gut seed supplier's Dutch warehouse

On Wednesday, a fire raged in the international seed supplier Takii's warehouse in the Netherlands. Images on Omroep Zeeland, a local broadcaster, show that the structure burnt to the ground. A nearby warehouse was also significantly damaged.

At this site, seeds are produced, and varieties from the company's Home & Garden segment are selected. In short, seeds were stored there, confirms Ton Kuipers, director of Takii Europe. "It is, of course, not the only location where we store seeds, but we should probably consider what was stored here as lost. Exactly how extensive the damage is, I can't say yet."
