The company was present with a stand at the ninth edition of the most important international floriculture symposium in the region, Siflor 2021. Eurofins Horti was present with a stand in order to welcome the attendees and discuss their services. “Eurofins Horti has partnered with International Flower Services for over 23 years in the important floriculture and horticulture market in Ecuador, and has served growers with accurate analyses on fertilization of soil and substrate, quality of water and fertilizers, and plant health.” Aanhane also gave a presentation about the benefits of soil and crop monitoring in horticulture. His lecture was one of 30 conferences that were given between technicians and managers of high academic level. “The event had the participation of nearly 300 people of different nationalities, and the objective of the event was training in the field of floriculture. Of course, it was the perfect opportunity to finally network and reunite people after these years of the pandemic.”

An educational event
There were technical presentations directed at technicians and agriculture engineers, as well as management presentations. The technical programs included talks on topics like logistics,  energy-related technologies for flower production, plant physiology, sustainable soil management, rose disease management, vase life extension research, and the use of organic and biological options for pest and disease control. In addition, the management program presented topics such as human talent development, circular economy, and sustainable environmental solutions.

Besides the educational presentations, three farm tours were organized:
- Recycling plants and cranberries at Naranjo Roses
- Pollination + showroom at Conectiflor
- Logistics at Kuehne + Nagel
